
Georgia triumphs at RIGA SINGS
The Girls' Choir of the Sulkhan Tsintsadze Music College in Gori wins Imants Kokars Choral Award 2025
Five days filled with musical highlights, passionate performances, and unforgettable choral moments concluded today in the Latvian capital: RIGA SINGS 2025 has come to a close – and with it, after the official Grand Prize Competition for the Imants Kokars Choral Award, the winners of this year’s international competition have been announced.
More than 30 choirs from 12 countries gathered in Riga to showcase their artistry in a wide range of categories. Each performance demonstrated great musical quality and the unique cultural color of each participating choir.
The Imants Kokars Choral Award was given to The Girls' Choir of the Sulkhan Tsintsadze Music College in Gori from Georgia. With their exceptional musicality, stage presence, and emotional expression, they captivated both the jury and the audience in Riga and secured the highest honor of this competition.
In total, the international jury awarded 19 Gold, 17 Silver, and 2 Bronze Diplomas to the competing choirs. Category Winners were:

Special Prizes were given to Turku YMCA Male Choir Naskalit (Finland) for their “outstanding artistic choice of presented program” and also to Callisto - Lykeion Ton Hellinidon Kalamatas (Greece) for their “outstanding performance of own Folklore music”. A Conductor’s Prize was awarded to Nino Tsiklauri from Georgia.
