World Choir Games 2018

11:00 at St. Alban’s Cathedral the popular category Musica Sacra is being continued with choirs from South Africa, the Czech Republic, China, Denmark, Russia and Austria with a varied repertoire. Lay back in the solemn surrounding of this Anglican building and listen to the sounds of award-winning ensembles such as the Kimberley Girls’ Choir, Aarhus Pigekor or Puellae Cantantes and many others.

11:00 and 19:00 at the Musaion The Champions Competition of Mixed Choirs will take place, where 8 choirs compete at a high level for the victory in this category C9 - China meets South Africa meets Brazil meets Zimbabwe.

Friendship Concerts will take place at 4 different stages throughout the city – Melyn Park (11:00, 15:00, 18:00), NG Universiteitsoord (15:00), Loftus Park (17:00) and Atteridgeville Community Centre (17:00). Experience first-hand how harmonious tunes from most diverse countries merge into one harmonious choral happening.

This day’s Celebration Concerts at 19:30 at the Aula Theatre and the NG Universiteitsnoord present choral music from four continents, amongst them Coral Cantus Firmus who already swept the audience off their feet at the World Choir Village and the Guangdong Experimental High School Choir from China who gained multiple Gold Medals at the last three World Choir Games.
