The jury
One of the defining features of the International Choir Competition Sarawak is its renowned panel of international jurors, composed of respected figures in the choral world. Participants will have the opportunity to be evaluated by experts with decades of experience and global influence in choral music.
- Hyo-Won Woo (Republic of Korea)
One of South Korea’s most prominent contemporary composers, Hyo-Won Woo is celebrated for her groundbreaking works that blend traditional Korean musical elements with Western techniques. Her compositions have been featured at major international festivals such as the World Choir Games 2023, for which she has written the event's Official Song “You are music”. Further, she has collaborated with top choral ensembles worldwide. As a faculty member at the Chorus Center Academy in Seoul, she continues to shape the future of choral music.
- Randolph Stenson (USA/Japan)
As the founder and artistic director of the St. Mary’s Varsity Male Ensemble and the International Show Choir of Tokyo, Randolph Stenson is known worldwide for his work with male voices. With extensive experience as a conductor, educator, and editor of multiple choral music series, he brings his international expertise to the jury in Sarawak. His work as a clinician and guest conductor spans over 30 countries, making him a key figure in the global choral community.
- Susanna Saw (Malaysia)
A leading figure in Malaysia’s choral scene, Susanna Saw has played a key role in shaping choral education in the country. She holds a Master’s degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College (USA) and is a dedicated choir director at the University of Malaya, ASWARA, and Taylor’s University. As the founder of the Young Choral Academy in Kuala Lumpur, she has fostered choral talent and promoted Kodály music education throughout Southeast Asia.
The Location
