"I wanted to send you warm thank you words for your time and effort which you put for organising marvelous Robert Schumann festival in Zwickau [...] We will never forget this event!"
8th International Robert Schumann Choir Competition
Zwickau 2018
The International Robert Schumann Choir Competition, which in 2018 celebrates its 8th anniversary, revolves around Schumann’s compositional works and his contemporaries while focusing not only on the cultivation, but also on a new interpretation of these great 19th century works. The event is a very special one taking place at the same time with the celebration of Schumann’s 208th birthday on June 8. Adding to the value of such event, is the international choir music, mainly the variety of modern choral singing combined with equally interesting international performances.
An advisory panel as well as internationally recognized experts in the field of choral music will generously meet all choirs’ requests and desire for comprehensive pedagogical and artistic advice related to the competition.
For non-competitors, Friendship Concerts in Zwickau and its surroundings will provide outstanding possibilities to experience the complete fascination of this renowned international choral festival.
