The INTERKULTUR World Rankings have been updated and now include all results from our choir competitions in 2022, to be precise from Vox Lucensis, RIGA SINGS, International Choir Competition & Festival Kalamata, Isola del Sole - Concorso Corale Internazionale, Internationales Chorfest Magdeburg, SING FOR GOLD - The World Choral Cup, Deutsche Chormeisterschaft and LISBON SINGS

The highest new entry was achieved by Akademisk Kor Århus from Denmark, conducted by Jonas Rasmussen, which entered the list on rank 30 in the TOP 1000 after winning the first-ever World Choral Cup in Calella this year. Congratulations!

The UiTM Chamber Choir from Malaysia, conducted by Masashi Kishimoto achieved the highest competition result in all events this year with 27,44 points in the "Sacred Choral Music" category at Isola del Sole - Concorso Corale Internazionale, and thus climbed the World Rankings from place 185 to 26 now.

The INTERKULTUR World Rankings is a list of choirs that achieved the best results in the INTERKULTUR choir competitions, divided into one list of the 1000 best choirs and several lists ranking the 50 best choirs in various categories. A choir will be listed according to the results achieved in the INTERKULTUR event, where the choir competed. Participation in a higher level of competition leads to a better score in the World Rankings, as does a Category Win or victory at the World Choir Games or Grand Prix of Nations.

Usually at least one participation every five years is required to remain in the list but due to the pandemic this rule has not been active since 2020. From 2023 the suspension will be lifted and all choirs that would have been eliminated from the World Rankings in 2020-2022 (in case of non-participation) will get a chance to secure their place in the World Rankings by participating in an INTERKULTUR event in 2023.

The current INTERKULTUR World Rankings including the latest update is now available on our website:
