Choral singing from 5 nations comes to Thailand
Early Bird registration for the Lanna Int. Choir Competition attracts 14 choirs
“The Land of Smiles” will probably turn into the land that grins from ear to ear this fall: 14 choirs from 5 nations have followed the early bird registration deadline for the 1st Lanna International Choir Competition in Chiang Mai and will bring finest choral music from their countries to Thailand.
Taking a look at today’s list of participants we can find new faces at INTERKULTUR events like the choir “Camerati” from Sri Lanka as well as old hands like Novo Concertante Manila from the Philippines who were already part of several INTERKULTUR competitions, lately they participated in the World Choir Games 2012 in Cincinnati and the Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships 2012 in Guangzhou.
All in all there are six choirs to travel from China to Chiang Mai, four from Indonesia and two more from the Philippines. Also there’s a group from Malaysia and one from Sri Lanka expected to come. They promise a colorful festival of choral music and will hopefully keep more groups from more countries coming!
