Who will win the Golden State Choral Trophy 2016?
International jury has nominated the best choirs for the Grand Prize Competition
Our résumé after the first three festival days: Absolutely exciting!
After the Opening Concert and Singing Together on Sunday evening, we already mentioned that the Golden State Choral Trophy Festival in Monterey would provide a lot of exciting and surprising moments. And we have not exaggerated!
Competitions in the categories Folklore, Children's and Youth Choirs, Mixed, Female and Male Choirs, Jazz Vocal Groups and Pop Choirs as well as Friendship Concerts in wonderful churches in Monterey and a first workshop with the world-famous composer Morten Lauridsen have properly mixed the coastal town of Monterey up with choral music.
After all the outstanding competitions, one thing is certain: the choirs didn’t make it easy for the jurors Cheryl Anderson, Vijay Singh and Johan Rooze to select the best among the ensembles. But now the decision has been made.
The following choirs have been nominated by the international jury for the Grand Prize Competition of the Golden State Choral Trophy Festival 2016:
- Cantabile Youth Singers (USA)
- Vox Singers - Chór POKIS (Poland)
- Golden Gate Men's Chorus (USA)
- Positive Vibrations - POKiS (Poland)
- East Central University Chorale (USA)
This afternoon at 5 pm the nominated choirs will compete once again in the impressive Golden State Theater. We are excited to see who will win the Golden State Choral Trophy 2016. Good luck to everyone!
The Grand Prize winner and the winners of the individual competition categories will be announced at the following Award Ceremony, one of the most emotional moments at any INTERKULTUR event.
