Music for Saint Francis

From April 19-23, 2017 the global city of peace, Assisi becomes the meeting place for the international choir festival VOICES FOR PEACE. Choral lovers from all parts of the world are invited to go on a journey to the roots of Christianity together with INTERKULTUR and to create with their music a spot of land that radiates peace and unity.

Choirs who want to join the competition and demonstrate their skills can choose from nine different competition categories. Surrounded by the sacred aura of St. Francis in Assisi, the competition focusses on Sacred Choral Music. All participants are invited to dedicate their songs to world peace as a greeting to St. Francis and make the magical places of the medieval city resound with spiritual choral music.

In addition to participating in the competition, the choirs also have the chance to perform in harmony with other ensembles and thus to become part of an intercultural exchange. Friendship Concerts will happen at open-air stages as well as concert venues in Assisi and its surrounding.
