Participation opportunities

The World Choir Games invite all non-professional choirs from around the world to participate. The Games provide fair and realistic competition conditions for both experienced competitive choirs and those with relatively little international experience. The World Choir Games feature two levels of competition: The Champions Competition and The Open Competition, allowing choirs to participate at the level most appropriate to their experience.

Choirs that choose not to compete but still wish to be part of the international atmosphere of the Games may take part in the non-competitive evaluation activities.

Destination

In this region all the distances are short. Close to everything and easy to get here. That’s the right way to describe Helsingborg. We are located conveniently close to the highways to Stockholm and Gothenburg and the train, ferry and bus connections are good. We also have three airports within an hour’s travel from the region: Ängelholm-Helsingborg Airport, Malmö Airport and Copenhagen Airport. Copenhagen is only an hour away from Helsingborg.

By Air
There are three airports in this region: Ängelholm-Helsingborg Airport, Malmö Airport and only 20 minutes away from Malmö over the Öresund Bridge you also have Copenhagen Airport.

By Ferry
You can also reach our region by ferry from Denmark. Ferries 3-4 times an hour between Helsingborg and Elsinore in Denmark, and the journey takes about 20 minutes.

By train
Travelling by train in the region is both quick and convenient. SJ is the largest swedish train operator and operates on most long-haul routes from Oslo, Copenhagen and Berlin as well as in Sweden. With the fast X2000 train from Stockholm the trip takes about five hours to Helsingborg. The train from Gothenburg to Helsingborg takes about 2 hours. The regional train company Skånetrafiken operates between Copenhagen and Helsingborg.

Rent a car
If you want to rent a car, several of the well known rental companies are represented in our region. Many gas stations also have car rental.
