Dear Singers, dear Friends from all over the World,
As Mayor of Helsingborg, Sweden, I am truly honoured and delighted to welcome you to the World Choir Games 2026, held in our city from 6–16 August. It is a great privilege to host the world’s largest choral event and to open our doors to so many talented singers and devoted music lovers from across the globe.
Helsingborg is one of Sweden’s most vibrant coastal cities, beautifully situated by the Öresund strait. Our city combines a rich cultural life, historic heritage and modern infrastructure with easy access and a welcoming spirit. With our concert venues, public spaces and stunning waterfront, Helsingborg offers an ideal stage for your artistic expression.
As you explore our city, we invite you to discover its unique character: the medieval tower Kärnan watching over the city, the royal gardens of Sofiero Castle, and our cultural landmark Dunkers Kulturhus with its exhibitions, concerts and creative activities. From charming old neighborhoods to modern meeting places, Helsingborg offers inspiration around every corner.
Why not take an inspiring walk along our waterfront, where you can enjoy the beautiful view across the strait towards Denmark, with Helsingør and the famous Kronborg Castle on the horizon. And if you are curious, step inside our City Hall and test the wonderful acoustics under its historic arches.
Music and singing have always been part of our city’s soul. We believe that choral music can build bridges, foster understanding and inspire peace. During your stay you will not only experience outstanding performances but also the warmth and hospitality of our citizens. Together we will fill the city with song – or as we like to say, HelSINGborg!
Let this event strengthen the bonds between nations and cultures, just as it enriches our community here at home. We look forward to seeing you all in Helsingborg in August 2026 and to celebrating the universal language of music together.
