Jürgen Budday studied music education, church music and musicology from 1967 to 1974 at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart. From 1979 to 2012, he taught at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Maulbronn, a high school with boarding school.

He is the founder and artistic director of the "Maulbronn Chamber Choir", which he conducted until June 2016. From 1979 to 2013, he was the artistic director of the "Maulbronn Monastery Concerts" at the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Baden-Württemberg and developed the concert series into a classical music festival with international renown.

With the Maulbronn Chamber Choir he has won numerous prizes at home and abroad, such as 1st prize at the International Choir Days in Prague in 1990 and 1998, 2nd prize at the 3rd German Choir Competition in 1990 in Stuttgart, 2nd prize in 2009 at the International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf and victory at the International Choir Competition in Malta.

Regular activities as guest conductor, workshop leader and juror also lead Jürgen Budday to travel regularly at home and abroad.

From 2002 – 2019, he was Chairman of the Advisory Board for Choirs at the German Music Council and thus Jury Chairman of the German Choir Competition and has been the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Federal Youth Choir at the German Music Council (DMR) since 2019.

In 2013, Jürgen Budday received the Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Ring, one of the highest awards in choral music, and in 2014 he was appointed artistic director of the International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf.

Claudia Jennings studied choir and orchestral conducting at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil, where she also successfully completed her master’s degree in choral symphony. In Germany, she completed the master’s degree course in children’s and youth choir conducting at the University for Music, Theater and Media in Hannover. She also attended courses and seminars with well-known conductors such as Helmuth Rilling, Micol Matt, Hans-Christoph Radermann and Daniel Reuss.

Claudia Jennings has already worked with choirs such as the Hannover Girl’s Choir, the Potsdam Singing Academy and was active as choir director for projects of the Berlin Radio Choir. She works as a lecturer at advanced training courses, seminars, choir meetings and courses and works with ensembles such as music colleges and universities, among others. She is also a juror at various choir competitions in Germany.

Claudia Jennings is currently working as a choir conductor with various choirs in Berlin and is the musical director of the Brandenburg State Youth Choir, with which she regularly performs in Brandenburg, Berlin and abroad. Foreign concert tours and courses have taken her to China, Vietnam, South Africa and Lithuania, among other places. Since 2022, she been a lecturer for choir and orchestra conducting and children’s choir conducting at the Evangelic University for Church Music in Halle an der Saale.

Axel Pfeiffer studied musicology and instrumental pedagogy with a major in piano in Gießen and Mainz, as well as choral conducting at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt. As a choral conductor, he has won numerous first prizes with his choirs at national and international choral competitions. Since 2008 he has been the organisational director and one of two conductors of the "Landesjugendchor Hessen", since April 2023 he has been conducting the choir alone.

Axel Pfeiffer was national choir director of the Hessian Choir Youth and chairman of the Federal Music Committee of the Hessian Singers' Association. He taught music theory, choral voice training and rehearsal at the Frankfurt Choral Conducting School and, as head of the Marburg Choral Conducting School of the Hessian Singers' Association, the subjects of conducting, rehearsal and choral voice training. He teaches in seminars and advanced training courses and is regularly engaged as a critic and juror.

In 2009 Axel Pfeiffer founded the choir Cantamus Gießen. Since then, he has won numerous first prizes with this ensemble at competitions, including winning the Hessian Choir Competition in 2013, 2017 and 2022 and the highest score of the day of all participating choirs at the national choir competition at the Harmonie Festival in 2017.
