"....we were happy to have participated in such an involving event, happy to have made the acquaintance of various European choirs that through music have opened us to their culture; Thanks to you and all the organizers for the successful outcome of the event and for having treated us with great kindness and professionalism. We hope to be able to participate again in the near future."
ON STAGE in Lisbon
Lisbon is your stage!
The city built over seven hills, on the coast of the Atlantic ocean, is home to the world’s greatest explorers, like Vasco De Gama, Magellan and Prince Henry the Navigator.
Not any other European capital has such an intriguing mix of the old and the new, or so many contrasting faces, making this a city for unhurried exploration and a place to get lost in and discover its many distinctive sights and characteristic images.
The World Heritage Belem Tower, symbol of the age of discovery, is to Lisbon what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, and along with the marvellous Jeronimos Monastery, Vasco De Gama’s resting place are a must-see in one of Europe’s most soulful capitals, with sunsets on the sea.
Lisbon… ”a reminiscence of the romantic decay of Venice, the exoticism of Naples or Istanbul, the laid-backness of Rome, echos of San Francisco, and Iberian spirit.”

".... We were absolutely amazed with all the hospitality you offered us and how smoothly you managed to organize all the concerts, sihgtseeing tours, fantastic workshop and the unforgetable farewell dinner. We enjoyed ll the events and were happy to sing in the streets of Lisbon - picturesque city of great people, awesome history, music and sunny weather. Thank you very much. We would be happy to come again one day."
"Very well organised – people we dealt with were friendly, professional and helpful. Was a fantastic experience for all. We enjoyed the friendship concerts in Bad Ischl and the fact that venues were in close proximity with one main venue for the opening and closing events, which encouraged inter-group interaction and group feeling."
".... On behalf of Belle Voci, Ireland and our Musical Director, Eamon O’Malley, may I say what a pleasure and honour it was for us to meet you and enjoy the company of choir singers from different countries during the On STAGE in Lisbon event. Thank you for your wonderful organisation and for all your help and support with our various little difficulties.
Our trip to Lisbon was just out of this world and we shall all cherish the memories of the singing, sightseeing and general camaraderie that made the trip so special."

Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, has become an increasingly popular place to visit in recent years, with a warm Mediterranean climate in spite of its place facing the Atlantic Ocean. Full of bleached white limestone buildings and intimate alleyways, Lisbon's mix of traditional architecture and contemporary culture makes it the perfect place for a family holiday. Things to do in Lisbon As Portugal's capital, there is a lot to see and do in Lisbon. Even exploring the city centre will take a few days out of a family holiday as there is no real central district, although Praça do Comércio is a good central place to start, in Baxia, or Rossio, the city's main square which has a sort of Trafalgar Square feel to it. Or you might try climbing up the Cristo Rei, a huge statue of Christ with spectacular views across the whole city. The Castelo de São Jorge also offers great views and isn't quite such a steep climb. A short tram ride to the west of Lisbon will also bring you to Belem, where you can explore attractions like the Belem Tower and the Belem Cultural Centre, which features a fantastic art collection including works by Dali, Picasso, Warhol and Magritte. In downtown Lisbon, you'll also want to visit the Gulbenkian, which has to be Portugal's answer to the British Museum full of fascinating cultural artifacts and with some superb gardens in the grounds. It's possible to have a fascinating educational family holiday in Lisbon, and there are also plenty of great beaches to work on your tan.
