INTERKULTUR mourns for Ma Geshun
A leading authority for choral music in China passed away
Mr. Ma Geshun, professor of choral conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music passed away on December 19th, 2015 at the age of 100.
Ma Geshun was a leading authority for the Chinese choral community and one of the founders of Chinese choral music. He had dedicated his entire life to the development of choir music in China and the world. As one of the Permanent Members of the Honorary Artistic Committee of the World Choir Games, Mr. Ma supported INTERKULTUR to promote its various activities in the international choir community and thus leaves a big void in the choral world.
On behalf of INTERKULTUR and the World Choir Council, President Günter Titsch sent his condolences and regards to his wife Xue Yanli. INTERKULTUR has lost a good friend and supporter; our thoughts are with his family and friends.
