André J. Thomas to judge the Grand Prix of Nations
American composer will evaluate choirs’ performances in Berlin
The popular American composer and conductor André J. Thomas has confirmed to act as adjudicator at the Grand Prix of Nations in Berlin 2017. He thus will be in the panel of judges to evaluate the performances by top-class choirs from all over the world that have already proved their abilities hat several international choir competitions and to nominate the Grand Prix Winners in seven different categories. As a special treat André is supposed to entertain choirs and singers at the last evening with a jam session in the Berliner Philharmonie – more information will be announced at a later date.
The Grand Prix of Nations is part of the “Fest der ChorKulturen” (engl. "Festival of Choral Cultures") hosted by the Berlin Radio Choir and aiming to showcase choral music and choral culture from all over the world in various evening concerts. The event is held from February 1-5, 2017 in Germany’s capital Berlin; the concerts will take place in one of the best concert halls in Germany, in the Berliner Philharmonie. A unique chance to perform at a world renowned concert spot for each choir!
Apart from an extensive range of cultural highlights such as theaters, museums, concert halls and opera houses Berlin also features all intriguing sides of a prominent city.
