RIGA SINGS 2025: Back on Stage!

Choirs are invited to sing in Latvia’s capital again

The renowned 'Singing Nation' of Latvia is back on the international choral stage: The esteemed "RIGA SINGS - International Choir Competition & Imants Kokars Choral Award" will be back from April 3-7, 2025. Held in the picturesque capital city of Riga, this event promises to be a celebration of global choral talent and cultural exchange.

Riga's illustrious history of hosting international choral competitions, including the World Choir Games 2014, the Grand Prix of Nations Riga 2017 & 3rd European Choir Games makes it a premier destination for international choir singers. With the successful "RIGA SINGS" events in 2019 and 2022, Riga has been established as city of choral singing and invites choirs from around the world to showcase their talents and music in the city’s stages.

At the heart of the event lies a tribute to the late Imants Kokars, a shining figure in Latvian and international music. As a distinguished conductor and educator, Kokars played a vital role in shaping Latvia's choral legacy and founding the modern Latvian choral conducting school. The competition's prestigious "Imants Kokars Choir Prize" serves as a fitting tribute to his enduring legacy.

For the first time at this event, the 2025 edition of RIGA SINGS introduces a "Senior Choirs" competition category, recognizing the wealth of talent and experience among seasoned vocal ensembles. The highlight of the event will be a final Grand Prize Competition of the best choirs singing once again for the coveted "Imants Kokars Choir Prize," endowed with 2500 €.

Choirs around the world are invited to seize this opportunity to participate in Riga's vibrant choral community, engage in cultural exchange, and vie for top honors at the "RIGA SINGS 2025" competition. For more information and registration details, visit the official event website.
