First INTERKULTUR event in 2020 successfully completed

Sing'n'Pray Kobe with Award Ceremony and "Pray from Kobe" concert

One last time singing, praying, commemorating: 19 choirs from 10 nations came together from January 16-20, 2020 and concluded Sing'n'Pray Kobe 2020 with the national "Pray from Kobe" concert dedicated to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in the area around Fukushima in March 2011. In addition, the concert was followed by a prize-giving ceremony for the participants in the category Music of Spirit & Faith.

In the "Pray from Kobe" concert, various groups from Hyogo and Miyagi Prefecture subsequently performed spiritual pieces, followed by a joint performance of the song "Furosato" by all choirs and the entire audience, conducted by INTERKULTUR Artistic Director Fred Sjöberg. As a participant of “Sing’n’Pray Kobe 2020” the Diocesan School Old Boys' Association Choir from China/Hong Kong SAR contributed to the “Pray from Kobe” Concert and sent an important message out in the world by performing the „Carry Happiness to Once in Need“.

Diocesan School Old Boys' Association Choir under the direction of Ronnie Kay Yen Cheng achieved the best result in the Adult Choirs section of the competition; Syukugawa Angel Choir Nezu from Japan under the direction of Nezu Yoshiko took the top position in the Children's and Youth Choirs section and was also honored as the winner of Sing`n`Pray Kobe 2020. Altogether, the jury awarded 3 Bronze Diplomas, 6 Silver Diplomas and 9 Gold Diplomas.
