On the occasion of the 30th jubilee of the renowned international chamber choir competition Martkoberdorf in Germany the organizers came up with a special idea: they invited winning choirs from the past events to join the competition from June 7-12, 2019, and 14 choirs from all over the world followed their call.

The outstanding position of choirs from the Philippines on the international stage is stressed by the fact that three choirs from the island state will travel to Southern Germany on this occasion: the “University of the Philippines Los Banos Choral Ensemble“, „Imusicapella“ and the chamber choir „Los Cantantes de Manila“.

Shortly before the start of the festival in Marktoberdorf „Los Cantantes de Manila“ will sing several concerts in the south of Germany, one of those will happen close to INTERKULTUR’s head office near Frankfurt. On Thursday, June 6 at 19:00 h the choir under the direction of Darwin Vargas can be heard in the Christuskirche in Watzenborn-Steinberg. Admission is free.

Visitors of the INTERKULTUR event Sing’n’Joy Bohol can witness the outstanding quality of choirs from the Philippines from October 7-11, 2020, when numerous choirs will travel to Tagbilaran, capital of the Province of Bohol, for an international competition.
