What’s new in “The World of Young Voices”?

The day in between the first and the second part of the World Choir Games is traditionally the day when the World Choir Council meets and report about the choral scene in the respective countries. This year’s subject is “The World of Young Voices” and includes reports about the choral scene from different nations like USA, Denmark, Malaysia, Spain, among others.

On July 11 the Meeting of the World Choir Council will start at 10:00 am with the official Opening Session followed by a presentation of the host country “Russia – the choral country”. In the afternoon the official conference will start – after a joint session the members will continue the discussion in several work groups. In the evening the Council members will join the Celebration Concert “Golden Voices” in the Summer Theater Frunze and listen to singers from China, Russia and South Africa.

On July 12 the meeting continues with a presentation of upcoming INTERKULTUR projects and the European Choir Games in Riga in 2017, followed by further reports from respective countries and a presentation of the results from the group discussions that took place the previous day. The 2016 Council session will close at 12:30 on July 12.

The World Choir Council is the highest international advisory board of INTERKULTUR and confers with INTERKULTUR basically on artistic matters. In order to represent the worldwide choir community, we aim for the participation of at least one renowned representative from each choral country of the world. 88 nations are already represented in the Council.

The meeting of the World Choir Council 2016 will take place in the Art Museum in Sochi and is open to the public.
