Children’s Voices or Pop’n’Folk – the choice is yours!

Celebration Concerts at the World Choir Games

World Choir Games 2016

The World Choir Games is much more than competitions and awards. It’s a kaleidoscope of choral music from all ages, genres and corners of the world. Among the highlights of the event are various themed Celebration Concerts that feature the event’s best voices in the evenings.

Tonight people have the choice between a “Children of the World” concert in the Summer Theater Frunze and the “Pop’n’Folk Night” in the Green Theater - Riviera Park starting at 8:00 pm each. No matter which concert they choose, the audience will listen to choral music at its best. The performing choirs promise a musical ear candy:

The Academic Choir "Podlipki" from Russia, Poya-Songbook-Chorus from China and Harmonize from the Republic of Korea will perform in the “Pop’n’Folk Night”.

The “Children of the World” concert will highlight the Children's Choir "Alye Parusa" from Russia, Guangzhou Zhixin High School Choir from China and the Menlopark High School Choir from South Africa.

All of these choirs are experienced in public concerts and international choir competitions. The Menlopark High School, for example, is one of the prestige Afrikaans High Schools in South Africa and already a former World Choir Games participant, since they achieved a Gold Medal at the World Choir Games 2008 in Graz, Austria.

The Russian children choir Alye Parusa participated in October 2014 in the INTERKULTUR event “Canta al mar – Festival Coral Internacional” in Calella/Barcelona (Spain) and became a Champion in the category “Children’s choirs”.
