Starting in a new choral year: Vietnam International Choir Competition 2023
Hoi An welcomes 18 choirs from 7 nations this week
The new INTERKULTUR choral year has started: The 7th Vietnam International Choir Competition marks our first international choral event in 2023. The Opening Ceremony on April 2 was a promising start to a week of choral music:
The concert featured an impressive lineup of international choirs showcasing their unique musical styles and talents. The audience was treated to an unforgettable evening of choral music, with performances ranging from traditional Vietnamese songs and from all over Asia. The Opening Ceremony was filled with energy and excitement, especially when the national flags entered the hall and each nations was welcomed individually.
As an emotional highlight, the Opening Ceremony closed with a rendition of the event’s official song “One World, One People”, performed by the Artistic Directors Johan Rooze and Dang Chau Anh, and supported by the international participants. You can watch a recording of the ceremony once again here.
Overall, the Opening Concert was a wonderful start to what promises to be a truly memorable competition. The participating choirs set the bar high for the rest of the competition, which is starting today with the first performances in front of the international jury.
The 7th Vietnam International Choir Competition is sure to be a celebration of music and culture. We can't wait to see what the rest of the event has in store!
