International voices from four continents

The anniversary event of the Brahms Choir Festival will be full of variety

Johannes Brahms Int. Choir Festival & Competition

Last Monday the Early Bird Registration deadline for the International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival & Competition has passed. The result is amazing: There are already 10 choirs from 4 continents participating! Along with singers from Asia and Europe the Stellenberg Girls’ Choir from South Africa – currently one of the best girls’ choirs in the world – and the choirs of the Linn-Benton Community College in the United States have registered. It especially shows that the Brahms Choir Festival has become an impressive symbol of a high-level competition, as well as of a colorful folklore from around the world and exciting concerts.

On the occasion of the festival’s 10th edition in summer 2017 top-class choral ensembles like amarcord and the Kammerchor Wernigerode will do the honors and lend the celebration an appropriate setting.

Apart from regular competitions and the final singing of the best choirs for the “Johannes Brahms Choir Prize 2017” also the audience will turn into judges by voting for their favorite choir to be awarded the Audience Prize at the end of the event.

Regular registration deadline for the Brahms Choir Festival ends on February 13, 2017. Detailed information can be found on the official website www.wernigerode.interkultur.com.
