19:30 at Sun Arena, Tshwane: The Opening Ceremony is the official launch for the 10th World Choir Games and one of the best opportunities to experience a major part of the participating nations for the first time. INTERKULTUR welcomes the choirs of the world and during the presentation of the flags each single nation is being presented. As a prelude to their upcoming Choir Olympic adventure all participants will be warmly welcomed by the host city and country in the Opening Ceremony. South Africa is going to present itself by staging a great and flamboyant performance and showcase the richness and variety of the South African culture.

Throughout the day choirs arrive at the Rautenbach Hall (University of Pretoria) to register and get all necessary information for their stay in Tshwane – an excellent opportunity to meet singers from all over the world and shake hands with the international choral community.

World Choir Village: Throughout the whole time of the World Choir Games the World Choir Village is open for singers, locals and visitors as a place to eat, rest, replenish, socialize and rehearse – take a look and meet choir music lovers from all over the world. It is held at the Greek Orthodox Church grounds, on the corner of Roper and Lynnwood Streets, right in front of the University of Pretoria, Main Entrance.
