First Champions to be announced!
Today we will celebrate the Champions of the 9th World Choir Games 2016!
After altogether 53 concerts the results of 29 different categories in The Open Competition and in The Champions Competition will be announced today at the Awards Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. in the Bolshoy Ice Dome. Diplomes, artfully designed medals and trophies will be overhanded to the best choirs.
Following the Awards Ceremony the most successful choirs, namely the Champions of the first part of the World Choir Games will perform once again in two Champions Concerts which will take place at 3 p.m. in the Winter Theater and the Concert Hall in the Health Resort “Yuzhnoe Vzmorye”.
In the evening all participating choirs have the chance to listen to the Festival Stage Choir that has been rehearsing since the Games’ beginning and will present a varied program consisting of choral pieces of each musical style and culture. The Festival Stage Choir, also called “World Festival Singers” consists of 12 international choirs and will be conducted by Fred Sjöberg (Sweden) and Romāns Vanags (Latvia) as well as Yang Li (China). In addition to the mass choir local ensembles from Russia will perform in the “Festivalny”. Tickets are available at the office box.
