All competition and concerts at a glance
After the yesterday's spectacular Opening Ceremony of the 9th World Choir Games the first competitions in the categories Pop, Musica Sacra, Mixed Choirs and Scenic Folklore, Mixed Boys’ Choirs & Young Male Choirs follow.
Furthermore two workshops will take place at 11 a.m. and 15 a.m. in the Hall "Chayka". The workshop "Fingerprint of your choir" will be led by André van der Merwe. In this practical session he will explore the world of choral sound with you, guiding you how to enhance uniform vowels, resonance as well as balance and intonation. The second workshop is about Latvia, the Singing Nation of Europe. Mārtiņš Klišāns & Romāns Vanags will offer a deep musical insight in the musical scene and traditions of Latvian choral music. Tickets for the workshops can be purchased for 300 Ruble at the respective venue one hour prior to the start.
True to the motto "Singing together brings nations together" the first Friendship Concert will take place on several places in Sochi. The Southern and Northern Pier as well as the Adler Park are perfect places for a choral gathering.
