These are the winners of Canta al mar 2016!

Jury awarded 35 golden, 37 silver and 3 bronze diplomas

Canta al mar - Festival Coral Internacional

After five wonderful days full of competitions in Calella and Barcelona, countless Friendship Concerts, intercultural encounters and unforgettable moments at the Choir Parade or the Gala Conzert “Music and Light”, the festival Canta al mar reached its peak on Saturday with the Award Ceremonies at the Fabrica Llobet in Calella.

It was a moment of great joy as the results and the category winners were announced by the organizers. All in all the international jury awarded 35 golden, 37 silver and 3 bronze diplomas. A really great result for all participating choirs!

The following choirs received a special prize for their outstanding interpretation and performance:

SPECIAL PRIZE

DaCapo (Denmark), conducted by Poul Erik Juhl

Cantabile Girls' Choir, Hereford Cathedral School (Great Britain), conducted by Josephine Williamson

At the joint Fiesta de la Amistad, the winner of the Audience Prize was also announced, for which choral lovers could be voted on the whole week. Congratulations to the Gibraltar Youth Choir and its conductor Christian Santos!
