Double Triumph for World Choir Games Auckland 2024
“Major or Mega Event of the Year” and “New Zealand’s Favourite Event” 2024 at the New Zealand Event Awards
The 13th World Choir Games Auckland 2024 have been honored with two prestigious accolades at this year’s New Zealand Event Awards (NZEAs), the country’s foremost celebration of excellence in the events industry.
Organized by the New Zealand Events Association (NZEA), the New Zaland Event Awards recognize outstanding achievements across all areas of event delivery – from large-scale productions to suppliers and creative professionals.
In partnership with the New Zealand Choral Federation, INTERKULTUR brought the world’s largest international choir competition, the World Choir Games, to Auckland in July 2024. The event not only captivated thousands of singers and audiences from around the globe but has now also received top recognition at the national level, winning in both nominated categories:
- Major or Mega Event of the Year
- New Zealand’s Favourite Event (People’s Choice Award)
This double success underlines the exceptional vision, professionalism, and collaborative spirit behind the World Choir Games. It acknowledges the tireless efforts of the teams behind the New Zealand Choral Federation and INTERKULTUR, and countless local and international partners who contributed to making the event a resounding success.
The World Choir Games 2024 will be remembered not only as a milestone for international choral culture but also as one of New Zealand’s most outstanding event achievements.
Looking ahead, the journey continues: the next World Choir Games will take place in Helsingborg, Sweden, from August 6-16, 2026. Choirs from all over the world are invited to join this global celebration of music and friendship.
