Singers from Puerto Rico carry their talent internationally

Musical exchange at Sing’n’Joy Princeton 2017

Sing'n'Joy Princeton

When venerable Westminster Choir College will open its doors for Sing’n’Joy Princeton in February 2017 it’s time to sing and celebrate with choral groups from different world regions. Latin America will be represented by a group from the Caribbean Island Puerto Rico: “Coral Universitaria” is a university choir affiliated with the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus.

The university’s Department “Band and Orchestra” integrates several musical groups, including the choir, which aims to provide students the necessary tools to develop advanced choral techniques.

The Board of Directors of the “Coral Universitaria” sets a work plan to address effectively the various activities to be held during the academic year, every year, since 1959. The path traced this year is to share musical talent to both island and international level, and to entertain the public. They would like to show that the fine arts are able to contribute to the cultural and educational development of communities of different social levels, ages and cultures.

Their participation in Sing’n’Joy Princeton 2017 is a way to carry this idea internationally and share music and musical ideas with other groups and an audience from all over the world.

Sing’n’Joy Princeton will be held from February 16-20, 2017 in cooperation with the Westminster Choir College and featuring a guest performance by The American Boy Choir among other program highlights. More detailed information about the event can be found here.
