
Wernigerode celebrates its new winners
Minimus Vocal Ensemble from Poland wins the Johannes Brahms Choir Prize 2025
The International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival & Competition 2025 in Wernigerode has come to a festive close after five days fully packed with singing, music and celebrations.
We congratulate all participating choirs on their musical achievements, inspiring performances, and the spirit of international friendship they brought to this unique event. Together, they turned Wernigerode into a vibrant meeting place for choral music once again.
For the final Grand Prize Competition the best choirs from the competitions were selected by the international jury to perform once more for the overall win. They all sang two a cappella pieces in this final competition concert and right afterwards, the jury came to a decision:

The Audience Prize, which is a result from a voting of residents and visitors in Wernigerode, was awarded to the Estudio Choralia from Costa Rica. Congratulations!
The Conductor's Prize went to Emilie de Voght, conductor of the Musica Nova Choir from Belgium. Other special awards for outstanding performances went to Sekolah Global Indo-Asia Children's Choir from Indonesia and Estudio Choralia from Costa Rica. The accompanist Chen Pengyu received special recognition for its outstanding and highly supportive piano accompaniment of the Hangzhou Yangzheng Primary School Choir from China.
