Cross-cultural Gala Concert in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Do you know one of the most attracting parts at INTERKULTUR events? You just need one evening to watch and listen to original choral traditions from all over the world live on stage! One of the next occasions will be the Gala Concert at the 1st Lanna International Choir Competition in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on October 20, 2016.

There will be 63 choirs from seven nations participating in this competition and festival. The Gala Concert will showcase one group from each country, namely from the host Thailand, from Indonesia, Croatia, Malaysia, China, Philippines and Colombia. Each group will wear their traditional costumes and perform a Folklore program with songs and dances from their respective homes.

So it happens that during the concert you will listen for example to the Croatian song “Misečina” (engl. “Moonlight”) interpreted by the Vocal Group “Bona Forma” and also to “Wak Wak Gung” from Indonesia, performed by Mercu Buana Student Choir. As a special feature the choir “Camerati” from Colombia will present its version of “Happy”, the famous song by Pharrell Williams that is popular around the world and will make everybody singing and dancing along!

This evening will be the proof: Singing is most diverse, but unites all countries in the world!
