Singers from Latvia look forward to meet their international guests
First Latvian choir registered for Grand Prix of Nations & 3rd European Choir Games 2017
Following the amazing World Choir Games 2014 another spectacular choral event is to be held in Riga, Latvia in 2017: The Grand Prix of Nations & 3rd European Choir Games will welcome make the city resound once again! Let us introduce the first group from the host country Latvia that has registered and will welcome all international singers in Riga next July:
The Women’s vocal ensemble „Undine” comes from the city of Olaine, located in the South of Riga and was established in 2000. With great success the ensemble regularly takes part in national competitions of Latvian vocal ensembles. Their repertoire includes both Latvian and foreign composers’ songs a cappella and with accompaniment.
In 2015 “Undine” joined the international competitive stage for the first time when they came to Germany to participate in the 2nd European Choir Games in Magdeburg (Germany). Their international competition premiere resulted in a great success: The singers received a Silver Diploma in the Chamber Choirs / Vocal Ensembles category of the Open Competition. At the upcoming 3rd European Choir Games 2017 they will compete in this category once again trying to get an even better result. May you do well!
