Eight is the essential number of this year’s International Robert Schumann Choir Competition: This renowned event will take place in 2018 for the 8th time already and for the first time along with the celebration of Schumann’s 208th birthday on June 8.

From June 6 - 10, 2018 choirs from all over the world will focus on Schumann’s compositional works and his contemporaries and also on a new interpretation of great 19th century works.

The Robert Schumann Choir Prize 2018, Friendship Concerts, performances at the Schumannhaus, competitions in the Concert House and Ballroom "Neue Welt" and in the Zwickauer Dome "St.Marien" - all these highlights and many more are waiting for you in Zwickau.

For the first time the International Robert Schumann Choir Competition 2018 takes place in cooperation with the Schumann-Fest Zwickau. The common highlight will be a spectacular Festival of Lights at the Schwanenteich in Zwickau, where participating choirs will perform for the audience.
