Results of the Intl Choir Competition and Festival Bad Ischl announced
Grand Prize Winner comes from Sweden
The 16th International Choir Competition & Festival Bad Ischl came to a festive close with a vibrant Grand Prize Competition and Awards Ceremony. After several days of competition, singing together, and musical exchange, choirs from around the world celebrated the conclusion of a remarkable event in the heart of Austria.
Throughout the festival, Bad Ischl once again became a meeting place for international choral music. Choirs presented a wide range of repertoire, demonstrating artistic excellence across different styles and categories while sharing their passion for singing with audiences and fellow participants.
The final day brought the artistic highlights to the stage. Following the competition rounds, selected choirs returned to perform in the Grand Prize Competition, presenting their programs once more at the highest level.
After this final round, the international jury announced the overall winner of the Bad Ischl Grand Prize 2026:

In addition to the competition results, the international jury awarded special distinctions:
The Conductor’s Prize was awarded to Linda Alexandersson (Sweden), conductor of Damkören Korallerna, in recognition of her artistic leadership.
A Special Prize for excellent piano accompaniment in Gospel music was presented to Chiu Shing Yuk (China / Hong Kong SAR), pianist of Tsung Tsin Christian Academy Choir.
Overall, the competition achieved a strong artistic level, with 12 Gold Diplomas, 10 Silver Diplomas, and 3 Bronze Diplomas awarded across all categories.
INTERKULTUR congratulates all participating choirs, conductors, and singers and thanks them for contributing to the success of Bad Ischl 2026.
