Waiting has finally come to an end. Today, the 5th Canta al mar - Festival Coral Internacional will be officially opened. Nearly all of the 49 choirs have arrived in Calella now and will gather this afternoon for the traditional Choir Parade through the inner city of Calella. Endowed with country flags and signs, the singers will walk through the streets representing all 24 countries and spreading their anticipation.

The weather forecast for the afternoon looks good: It should stop raining so that the Choir Parade can take place as planned.

In the park Pati de l'Ós the choirs will be officially welcomed by the organizers. A first Singing Together of the choral pieces "Peace of God" and "Amigos para siempre" will put the choirs in the mood for the following festival days.

In the evening the big Opening Concert will take place in the church "Eglésia de Santa Maria i Sant Nicolau" at 9 p.m. and all the participants are invited to listen to four wonderful choirs: “KD Ženski Komorni Zbor Vox Annae” (Slovenia), "Motýli Šumperk" (Czech Republic), "Härlanda Voces" (Sweden) and the choir "Diponegoro University Choir" (Indonesia). From Antonín Dvořák and Henry Purcell to Eric Whitacre and John Rutter, the choirs will present a colorful concert program.
