"It is no exaggeration to say that these days with you all have been a real massage for my soul and a source of inspiration. Congratulations for the work done and your effectiveness throughout."
Singing at the Adriatic Sea
ISTRAMUSICA, our new INTERKULTUR music festival that is to take place in Croatia, is not just another interesting event. It is quite different from any of the other events out there – because this time, it is up to you to decide what precise shape ISTRAMUSICA is going to take.
The Croatian city of Poreč, directly on the Adriatic Sea, is the perfect spot to bring your ideas to life and give your choir lasting memories – of creative, thrilling and eventful days together.
With this event we offer you the opportunity to determine how and when you and your choir make an appearance. Over the course of one month, between 9 September and 8 October 2017, we will arrange all your concerts – however impressive or intimate in scale. We organize workshops and arrange opportunities to meet with other choirs from around the world.
You will be our main priority!
We provide support for your rehearsals from distinguished world-class guest conductors and provide a stage for the talented people from your own ranks. And let's not forget the spectacle and popular international choir competition, which will be the event's spectacular grand finale.
It is up to you to decide how many days and when exactly you would like to join us to sing and make music together. We create the optimum conditions for your success, whether it is choral activities we organize for your group, or consultation sessions with internationally renowned choral experts – or whether we can help you stage a gala concert one Adriatic evening at the famous Euphrasian Basilica.
Speaking of this Adriatic setting: recreational opportunities and tourist destinations abound in this delightful, sought-after area – you will be enchanted!

In the context of the ISTRAMUSICA Festival, we also strive to bring together choirs from all over the world to learn and to sing alongside each other. Over the course of a period of working together, several choral pieces are rehearsed and prepared for the joint performance.
Choral or orchestra activities
Just looking for separate choral activities? Then the ISTRAMUSICA festival in Poreč is a good choice as well. We can offer rehearsal spaces and the right conditions. In this beautiful environment, you will have the opportunity to work with your choir, join concerts or attend performances. Of course we are also more than willing to help plan your spare time activities.

Dear friends of choral music,
the issue of visas generally takes a long time. Therefore please make sure to apply for your visa as soon as possible. It is in your own interest. In case you apply too late, you risk a rejection of your visa registration!
Please contact the embassy of the host country in your country to get detailed information what restrictions and regulations apply to you!
Please keep also in mind that you might need transit visas, depending on your itinerary to the competition country.
If you do not have a valid passport yet, please apply for this immediately!
Participants of some countries need an invitation letter as well as a stamped list of participants to apply for a visa. INTERKULTUR can issue these documents.
INTERKULTUR can issue the invitation letter for the duration of the event and can stamp your list of participants to apply for visas only if you have fulfilled all the following conditions:
- you have successfully applied for the event and paid the registration fee to INTERKULTUR
- you have paid the down payment for the event package to our partner agency M&C Music Contact GmbH
- you have sent us the completed list of participants (no handwriting!)
Please send the list only once and try to avoid changes of participants, as changes may delay the issue of your visa. We recommend adding 3 or 4 alternative names as a reserve for participants who may cancel the travel.
As soon as you have complied with those three conditions we will send the invitation letter including the confirmed list of participants by email and the original documents by airmail directly to the responsible person of the choir. This person shall bring the documents to the embassy personally.
Please keep in mind that if you comply with the conditions too late so that we have to send the original invitation letter per international express delivery, you have to take over the additional costs (approx. 100 – 300 EUR).

Poreč is a town located in the heart of the western coast of Istria. As a town of culture, tourism, sport and entertainment, it has been recognised and awarded for the beauty of its public spaces and its cleanliness many times over. Poreč grew from a small coastal settlement into an attractive tourist destination. It has a long and turbulent history which nurtures remnants of its past in the heart of its old town. From Ancient Roman times to the present day more than two thousand years have passed, and the streets of Poreč continue to preserve their original architecture and numerous cultural and historical monuments. Of these we can especially note the Euphrasian Basilica with its distinctive mosaics dating from the 6th century which UNESCO recognised and protected as a world heritage site in 1997.
Aside from its culture and tourism, Poreč also has a sports and entertainment side. Almost every hotel has a summer terrace, and hot summer nights are enriched by numerous restaurants, discotheques, night clubs, bars and casinos. Poreč also offers its guests diverse possibilities in the realm of sports, from tennis, beach volleyball, football, horseback riding, cycling, walking and other water sports which enhance the holidays of every one of its guests. For those who crave adrenaline it offers carting, paintball, waterskiing on the only ski-lift on the Adriatic coast, jet-ski riding, mountain biking and other sports for all those who love active holidays.
Poreč offers the possibility of not only discovering its jewels, but also of exploring its surrounding area and discovering for yourselves why Istria is called ‘Terra Magica’ (magic land). Poreč is surely the pearl of Croatian tourism which offers its visitors a different kind of holiday full of entertainment and events… In short, a mosaic of experiences.
