"Let King Bhumibol become the core of the Lanna International Choir Competition"

A letter of sympathy by INTERKULTUR President Günter Titsch

Competitions & Festivals

Dear Friends,

In these darkest hours of the greatest loss in your days, I am sending you my deepest condolences. After a long and glorious reign, the passing of His Majesty the King Bhumibol leaves you and all Thai people in deep sorrow for the loss of their father, protector and beloved King.

His Majesty was a revered personification of Thai nationhood, a strong historical figure of international significance and most important: the unifying center of a great Nation. During his seven decades of calm and wise leadership, he helped to stabilize and develop his beloved country, dedicating his entire life to his people. During his reign his kingdom was transformed into a modern country of industry and commerce – enabling many Thai and their children to live better lives.

I feel devastated for your loss, however I am sure I cannot empathize what is happening in your country right now. Please accept my deepest sympathy on behalf of the INTERKULTUR leadership and all its staff members. It is our wish to turn the 1st Lanna International Choir Competition into a celebration of the late King Bhumibol’s life and music. Let us dedicate all competition concerts, the Grand Prize event and every single song performed by our choirs to him and his life in goodness and wisdom. Let him become the center and the core of the entire event!

Thank you for hearing my words. My prayers and thoughts in these sad days are with you and the Thai people.

In deep mourning and appreciation

Günter Titsch

President INTERKULTUR
