7th International Conductor's Seminar with new choral experts

Ai Hooi Lim (Singapore) and Mat Wright (Great Britain) to educate young conductors in Wernigerode

Johannes Brahms Int. Choir Festival & Competition

The International Conductor's Seminar organized by INTERKULTUR in cooperation with The Chamber Choir Wernigerode is set to take place for the seventh time already from June 28 - July 1, 2025. The four-day seminar, scheduled just ahead of the 13th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival & Competition in Wernigerode, promises an enriching experience for international students, junior conductors, and young professionals.

The renowned international choral experts Ai Hooi Lim from Singapore and Mat Wright from Great Britain will lead the seminar, providing valuable insights and guidance. Participants will have the unique opportunity to engage in intensive rehearsals of international choral literature alongside the distinguished Kammerchor Wernigerode (The Chamber Choir Wernigerode). The seminar will culminate in a festive Closing Concert, allowing participants to showcase the result from their hard work in the days before.

Designed to foster musical growth and international collaboration, the seminar is open to both active and passive participants. Additionally, a limited number of spots are available for (choir) singers, which is the first time that this opportunity has been created for the seminar. Choir conducting, teaching and music students of the surrounding conservatories in Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Saxony and Hesse as well as interested choir singers and conductors from these states are explicitly being invited to participate in the seminar.

Furthermore, INTERKULTUR is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for young, talented conductors. These scholarships will be granted during the ongoing events in 2024 to young, talented conductors who have achieved outstanding results with their ensembles, starting with the event Sing’n’Pray Kobe 2024 in Japan from January 25-29, 2024.

It is also possible to apply for a scholarship from INTERKULTUR. A limited number of places are available for this, which can be taken up by selected scholarship holders after the application documents have been checked.

Interested? Apply early and secure your place in this exceptional musical journey. For more information and to submit applications, visit the official event website.
