Besides first competitions in the categories "Children's Choirs" and "Pop-Jazz-Gospel-Spiritual" we were pleased about a second Gala Concert yesterday evening, this time in the Stadtpfarre St Nikolaus. The concert took place as part of the 13th International Choir Competition & Festival Bad Ischl and impressed the international and local audience.

Five choirs from Germany (Kinderchor 1 des Goethe-Gymnasiums Schwerin), Italy (Coro Giovanile "I Minipolifonici" di Trento), Slovenia (Šaleški Akademski Pevski Zbor Velenje) and Sweden (Gustavi Ungdomskör und Karolinskas Kammarkör) filled the church with sacred and secular choral music. Choral pieces amongst others by Guiseppe Verdi, Anton Bruckner, Morten Lauridsen, Ēriks Ešenvalds und Eric Whitacre were presented on a high artistic level.

A joint performance of both Swedish choirs was especially moving. Around 80 voices sang togeether two Swedish folk songs. An incredible voice power!

The Gala Concert in the church was a wonderful concert experience. And the Stadtpfarre St Nikolaus provided the perfect atmosphere. We would like to thank all singers for these great musical moments!
