You always meet twice

Copenhagen Girls’ Choir is among the participants of the Bruckner Competition

Anton Bruckner Choir Competition and Festival

Already for the 6th time, the International Anton Bruckner Choir Competition and Festival, to be held from June 14-18, unites choirs from all over the world in one of the most colorful and exciting cultural places in Austria: in the city of Linz.

The choir festival offers a great opportunity not only to participate in competitions, but also to enjoy Friendship and Gala Concerts together with other singers from all over the world and to explore the musical heritage of the great composer in the streets of Linz. Venues, such as the concert hall in the Brucknerhaus, the New Cathedral of St. Mary and the monastery of St. Florian offer the choirs wonderful stages and the best acoustics.

That is why the Copenhagen Girls’ Choir, by the way one of Denmark's best young ensembles, is looking forward to being back in Linz again. Already in 2015 the young singers enchanted the international jury and were awarded a gold medal in the category "Youth Choirs of Equal Voices".

The Copenhagen Girls' Choir was founded in 1973 and is under the patronage of Princess Benedikte of Denmark. Under the artistic direction of Anne Marie Granau the choir has appropriated its homogenous sound, for which the choir is known beyond the borders. In addition to Linz, the Girls' Choir has also been successful in Prague and Lisbon over the past few years. Also in 2017 the young singers will compete with the international choirs and make Linz sound again.
