Singing in a baroque jewel

St. Florian Monastery offers an impressive scenery for Bruckner Festival Concerts

Anton Bruckner Choir Competition and Festival

Already for the 6th time the International Anton Bruckner Choir Competition and Festival (June 14-18, 2017) will unite choirs from all parts of the world and familiarize them with the treasures of alpine culture.

One of these treasures is the St. Florian Monastery, a medieval and later baroque monastery complex near Linz, where emperors, generals and even a pope spent the night since the 11th century. Dating back to the tomb of Saint Florian, today the Augustinian chancery is a "baroque jewel" and one of the most important landmarks of Upper Austria.

There is a lot to discover for locals and international visitors: the magnificent church with the famous Bruckner organ, in whose crypt the sarcophagus of the composer Anton Bruckner can be visited, the library dedicated to the great scientific achievements, especially in the area of history research, the gallery with the most important works of the master of the Danube School, Albrecht Altdorfer, and the of Anton Bruckner commemorative rooms.

The church and the magnificent marble hall in particular will offer a wonderful setting for the Festival Concerts with international choirs at the 6th Anton Bruckner Choir Competition and Festival.

The event will take place from June 14-18 in cooperation with the LIVA (Linz Event Management Association) and the state of Upper Austria. Interested choirs can register until February 6. Further information on participation and registration can be found here.
