The competition between mountains and seas

Int. Choir Competition & Festival Bad Ischl

For the 13th time the International Choir Competition & Festival Bad Ischl will take place. From April 30 – May 4, 2016 international choirs among others from the Czech Republic, Germany, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Nepal, South Africa, Sweden, Turkey, the USA and from the host country Austria will sing in a peaceful competition.

The quaint village Bad Ischl in the beautiful Salzkammergut in Austria is especially well known through its romantic story of the princess Elisabeth of Bavaria and Emperor Franz Joseph I. from Austria, whose summer residence was located in Bad Ischl.

The competition located in the picturesque countryside of the Salzkammergut has become one of the most important and greatest choral events in Austria.  14 different competition categories are available for selection during the choir’s registration. Moreover the singers have the opportunity to achieve valuable advices during Evaluation Performances and Individual Coachings with international choral experts and to gain stage experience. A non-competitive participation in the festival is also possible.

The Friendship Concerts in the beautiful Salzkammergut are focused on the joy of singing and on an intercultural exchange. In front of the breathtaking scenery of the mountains the international choirs will perform at unique venues: the Trinkhalle building, the former Kurhaus (spa house) and the Stadtpfarrkirche St. Nikolaus offer authentic insights into the Imperial Era as well as prefect performing conditions.

Aroused your curiosity? Until the 14th of December there is a possibility to register for the International Choir Competition & Festival Bad Ischl 2016. All information can be found on the official website.
