Happy winners at the Internationales Chorfest Magdeburg

6 Golden and 7 Silver Diplomas were awarded to the competing choirs

Internationales Chorfest Magdeburg

The first international choir competition that took place within the Chorfest Magdeburg closed this afternoon with the Award Ceremony. Exciting days full of singing and competition are lying behind all competing choirs. This afternoon in the Johanniskirche in Magdeburg all choirs learned the results from their competition performances and the Category Winners were crowned.

Category C1 - Chamber Choirs and Vocal Ensembles of Mixed Voices

Category S - Sacred Choral Music a cappella

University of Louisville Cardinal Singers, United States

With a total of 25,58 points in the "Mixed Choirs - Level of Difficulty I" category the University of Louisville Cardinal Singers from the USA achieved the best result in the competition and was therefore awarded the "Festival-Preis des Chorverbands Sachsen-Anhalt". Another Special Prize was awarded by the Choir Association Saxony Anhalt to the Gospel Choir "Go(o)d Voices" from Germany, conducted by Jihoon Song for an outstanding interpretation of the piece "Praise His Holy Name" by Keth Hampton.
