Europe meets Japan at Sing’n’Pray Kobe 2018

Choir from Poland joins international choir festival

Sing'n'Pray Kobe

The first European choir gets ready to travel to Sing’n’Pray Kobe in Japan: The Polish choir Vox Singers - Chór POKIS, a regular guest at INTERKULTUR events, has participated in the 3rd European Choir Games in Riga this year and will continue to follow INTERKULTUR around the globe to Japan.

The Sing’n’Pray Kobe Festival will take place along with the "Pray from Kobe Concert", which, was first held in 2012 in order to sing and pray for the victims of the huge earthquake and tsunami around Fukushima on the east side of Japan in March 2011. In 2018 it will take place on Sunday, January 28 in the course of the Sing’n’Pray Kobe International Choir Festival from January 25 to 29.

The Vox Singers and their conductor Robert Majewski, which have participated in eight INTERKULTUR events since 2010 and gained six Silver and two Gold Medals so far, will take part in the only category Music of Spirit and Faith in which choirs may perform music of all religions, churches and denominations, as well as general songs of spirit and faith.

Choirs that want to take part in the festival only can e.g. appear on stage with other international choirs during Friendship Concerts. Further pedagogical activities such as seminars and workshops with Ko Matsushita (Japan) and John Pamintuan (Philippines) will be further highlights of the event.

If you’re interested in participating: The registration deadline has just been extended until October 9, 2017. More information can be found here.
