Baltic voices in concert with the world
In 2021 international choirs guest in Riga again
World Choir Games 2014, European Choir Games 2017, Riga Sings 2019 – the Latvian capital of Riga welcomed them all. Rarely has a city been the venue for the complete range of INTERKULTUR events and thus the centre of the choir community for up to 30,000 singers. Being a country with a long-standing choral tradition and an incredibly lively choral scenery, Latvia and Riga will open their gates again in 2021 for the second edition of „RIGA SINGS - International Choir Competition & Imants Kokars Choral Award”.
From May 1 - 5, 2021 choirs from all over the world will meet for competitions in different categories, Friendship Concerts, various pedagogical offers and the final Grand Prize Competition for the winners of each category. 31 choirs from 11 nations took part in the event's first edition in 2019, and next year again numerous groups will inspire local and visiting choral music fans with their performances.
At numerous venues throughout the city, which is characterized by Art Nouveau, stages in architectural gems, at historically significant places or in culturally important buildings await the singers of the participating choirs.
Choirs making quick decisions will have time to secure special bonuses until the Registration Deadline for Early Birds on September 28, 2020 - further information on the event and details regarding categories and participation possibilities are available at www.interkultur.com.
