Austrian charm meets Asian vibrancy

Indonesian choir joins choral get together in Bad Ischl 2018

Int. Choir Competition & Festival Bad Ischl

Bhinneka Tunggal Ika – Unity in Diversity is the national motto of Indonesia which also symbolizes the essence of the 14th International Choir Competition and Festival Bad Ischl, Austria from May 2 - 6, 2018. The London School of Public Relations Choir (LSPR) from Jakarta/ Indonesia will join this choral gathering and is determined to make it again to the top two of their favorite categories Folklore and Pop, as they did during the last years.

The LSPR choir started with a group of enthusiastic students who wanted to perform in the first theatre production of the Teatro London School in Jakarta. They were given the chance to perform as an opening act and after this first successful show they decided to form a choir which nowadays enters the stage e.g. for events at the University such as orientation day, graduation day, LSPR – Jakarta anniversary, Spring Ball Charity and many more.

In March 2011 the LSPR Choir joined their first International Competition at the 1st Vietnam International Choir Festival & Competition in Hoi An and achieved right away a Golden Diploma. At the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships in Guangzhou/China they continued their success story and won 3 Gold Medals in 3 different categories: Pop/Jazz/Gospel, Mixed Choir and Folklore.

In 2014 the LSPR Choir participated in the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia and faced the biggest number of competitors so far but they kept their cool and returned to Indonesia with 1 Gold and 3 Silver. This year the stage in Bad Ischl/ Austria and the breathtaking setting of the Austrian mountains will welcome them and we keep our fingers crossed for their stirring performances!
