Sing'n'Joy Provo

After the first competition and Friendship Concert yesterday we will start the upcoming festival day of the Sing'n'Joy Provo full of anticipation.

Already this afternoon at 3 p.m. it will be exciting to the following choirs in the Covey Center for the Arts: "Bonneville High School Bel Cantos", "Bonneville High School Bonnevaires", "Female Alumnae Choir of Tallinn University of Technology", "Cantorum Chamber Choir" and "The Choral Arts Society of Utah". The choirs will compete in the categories Women's Choirs and Mixed Choirs. INTERKULTUR wishes all choirs great success!

At 5:30 p.m. our choral expert Maria Guinand from Venezuela will give a workshop on the topic of "Exploring rhythms and dances from Latin America". Maria Guinand is professor in the field of music at the Simón Bolívar University in Caracas and Vice-President for Latin America in the International Federation for Choral Music. In her workshop, Maria Guinand will make the participants familiar with Latin American rhythms and dances, such as the popular Salsa, Chachacha, Tango, Maracatú or the Joropo.

On Friday evening we are delighted to present the "BYU Men’s Chorus". In the course of the festival Sing'n'Joy Provo the Men's Choir of the well-known Brigham Young University will give its annual Winter Concert. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. in the "De Jong Concert Hall" of the Brigham Young University. All participating choirs of the festival receive free entry to this concert. For the others: tickets for the concert are available at the box office.

All current information and pictures of the event can be also found on the Facebook fan page. Have a look!

By the way: the Sing'n'Joy festival choir is already rehearsing since Wednesday for the big Closing Concert on Saturday. Stay tuned for the results!
