Same same… but different!

Kearsney College Choir back at the World Choir Games

World Choir Games 2018

One of the currently 150 registered choirs for the 10th World Choir Games 2018 is back on the occasion of INTERKULTUR’s 30th anniversary – the Kearsney College Choir joins the World Choir Games for the 8th time and with its new conductor Mr. Marshell Lombard, who succeeded Bernard Kruger in 2015. The singers will perform in 3 categories: Music of Spirit and Faith, Scenic Pop/ Show Choirs and Scenic Folklore.

Founded in 1921, Kearsney College is a private boarding school for boys in Botha’s Hill, a small town between the provincial capital of Pietermaritzburg and Durban, in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Its choir boasts a long list of accolades, including 13 Gold medals and 6 Silver medals at the World Choir Games between 2000 and 2014. At the 7th World Choir Games in Cincinnati, USA 2012, the choir was crowned World Champions in Scenic folklore for the third time. At the World Choir Games in Latvia (2014), the choir won the Scenic Pop category and the Champion title once again, as well as gold medals for the Folklore and Young Male Choir competitions.
