Sing about love, beauty, truth, peace

Chorus America calls on choirs to #Sing1Voice

Latest news

Advent season is a perfect timing for this calling on choirs by Chorus America: The idea of #Sing1Voice is based on a commitment to building a better future – in the United States, but also in the whole world. All singers in the world can confirm Chorus America’s basic idea: Singing together is a powerful tool for bringing people together. And we agree on what Chorus America says: “Now is the time to put that tool to work.”

We love the idea and want to support #Sing1Voice and help Chorus America to spread their message internationally. So we call choirs from all over the world to join in this great activity:

  • Find or film a video of your ensemble singing about something that unites us – love, beauty, truth, peace.

  • Share your video using the hashtag #Sing1Voice on Facebook, YouTube, and any other social media platforms you use.

  • Invite more groups to do the same. In your post, tag at least two ensembles that are somehow different from yours – whether in location, genre, size, heritage, or another way – and invite them to participate.

Kick-off choir was the Young People’s Chorus of New York City performing Simon & Garfunkel’s “Like a bridge over troubled water”.

Now it’s up to you! Join in and keep in mind the words of Francisco Núñez, Artistic Director of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City: “Maybe if we listen to each other’s music, we will be willing to listen to each other’s words.”
