In the Folklore category choirs present the music of their home countries

The world as guest of INTERKULTUR

What do you know about choral traditions in Indonesia? How does traditional choral singing sound in Venezuela? How do they sing in China? And which sounds are typically Finnish, for example? To find answers to these questions are so easy to find at INTERKULTUR. The competition concerts in the Folklore category join music and traditions from all corners of the world on only one stage.

The Folklore category is one of the most popular competiton categories at INTERKULTUR events. For example, in 2014 alone 82 choirs performed in this category in front of the international jury at five different destinations.

But also the audience loves it! These competitions are usually the most frequented concerts at the events. Nowhere else one can see to varied and colorful costumes, body paintings and exotic instruments like here. And nowhere else choirs have the chance to bring thei own traditions and songs from their home countries to an international stage. But see for yourselves:

Also in 2016 you can experience the music of the world at the INTERKULTUR events: in Grado in Italy, on the Greek island Corfu, in the Spanish city of Calella or even outside of Europe in Chiang Mai in Thailand.
