More dialogue at a cultural level
The great potential of a dialogue at cultural level was the main topic of a visit of some politicians of a regional and national level at INTERKULTUR.
The deputy chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel, visited the INTERKULTUR organization office in Fernwald (Hesse) together with Anja Schneider, head of the district authority of Gießen and Stefan Bechtholf, Mayor of the city of Fernwald.
A video presentation informed the guests about many details of the international work of INTERKULTUR that left a lasting impression on them.
Schäfer-Gümbel, who will take over the presidency of the “Kulturforum der Sozialdemokratie” (“Cultural Forum of Social Democracy”) was absolutely convinced of the success of the dialogue INTERKULTUR is constantly having across both political and national borders: “INTERKULTUR does an impressive work – not only regarding its cultural contribution but also concerning the question of understanding: Diplomacy of the people is more important than many political conversation – and INTERKULTUR warrants this.”
Especially with regard to the upcoming World Choir Games 2016 in Sochi, Russia the participants of the meetings agreed that especially in difficult times a dialogue at this cultural level which INTERKULTUR is having makes an important contribution to international understanding and a peaceful cooperation.
