INTERKULTUR scholarship for talented choir conductors

From now on INTERKULTUR will award scholarships for the 6th International Choir Conductors' Seminar Wernigerode (July 17-20, 2021) to young talented conductors up to 40 years of age. Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2020 via www.interkultur.com/scholarship2021.

The seminar addresses to international students, young conductors, choir assistants and young professionals and will take place in the city of Wernigerode in the week before the 12th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition 2021. Participants will then have the additional opportunity to attend the festival or compete in the competition with their choir and apply their newly acquired knowledge.

As in 2019, the internationally renowned choral conductors André van der Merwe from South Africa and Romāns Vanags from Latvia will act as lecturers for the choral conducting seminar. Studio choir is one of the most famous youth choirs in Germany, the Rundfunkjugendchor Wernigerode under the direction of Peter Habermann, who is also the artistic director of the conductor’s seminar.

The scholarship holders, as active participants in the seminar, have the opportunity to intensively study, practice and finally present selected international choral literature in an evening concert with the Rundfunkjugendchor Wernigerode.

The scholarship includes participation fees and accommodation for 4 nights in Wernigerode as well as the required sheet music package. Applications can be submitted online via this website (deadline for applications is November 30).
